Hisham Al Osh

Background

My background

I'm in my clinical year at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), training at the Integrative Cancer Clinic (ICC). All of my clinical work is supervised by a licensed Naturopathic Doctor.

I'm a competitive swimmer and a nutrition and wellness coach. Swimming and coaching showed me how much food, sleep and recovery shape how people feel day to day.

I'm also a co-author of a published scoping review on garlic (Allium sativum) and mental health.

Approach

How I work

  • Evidence first. I look at what the research supports, explain it plainly, and am honest about what we don't know yet.
  • Alongside your medical team. Integrative care means working with your doctors and oncology team, never replacing them. I'll ask about your medications and any treatment you're receiving.
  • Food first and practical. Small, realistic changes that fit your appetite, schedule, culture and budget.
  • Supervised care. As an intern at a teaching clinic, all of my clinical work is supervised by a licensed Naturopathic Doctor.
